School Community Partners

Marin Sanitary is proud to partner with two local non-profit organizations who are dedicated to helping schools decrease their carbon footprint and reduce their waste.  Cool the Earth is a wonderful organization that raises the awareness of students and their families on the importance of behavior changes to reduce the effects of climate change.  Marin Sanitary Service has partnered with Conservation Corp North Bay (CCNB) to perform waste audits in several of the schools.  This information will be used to help the schools reduce their waste and increase recycling and composting.  Hands-on education and training of custodians, staff, and students is offered by MSS in collaboration with CCNB.  If your school is interested in  a waste audit and hands-on recycling and composting education, please call our Education Coordinator at 458-5539 or send her an email at School Programs.

Cool the earth Cool the Earth is a free, ready-to-run climate change assembly program that educates K-8 students and their families about climate change and inspires them to take simple actions to reduce their carbon emissions. The program is successful because it’s fun and empowering for the kids and their enthusiasm is contagious!
Print Conservation Corps North Bay has a mission to develop youth and conserve natural resources for a strong, sustainable community. They have worked with many schools to help them reduce their waste and to set up recycling and garden composting programs.
