Marin Sanitary Service
offers residential waste collection and recycling services to customers who live in the City of San Rafael, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District, City of Larkspur, Town of Ross, Town of Fairfax, Town of San Anselmo, Ross Valley Sanitary District, and certain unincorporated areas surrounding San Rafael. In addition to weekly curbside pick-up and maintenance, Marin Sanitary Service provides custom services including additional pick-ups and debris box rental.
BASIC SERVICES
Basic residential services include weekly curbside garbage pick-up, weekly curbside recycling pick-up, and bi-weekly curbside yard waste pick-up. Appropriate container options are provided as part of our service. Please call the office at 415-456-2601 for your street’s pick-up day.
Marin Sanitary Service collects recyclables alongside your weekly garbage pick-up including glass bottles, aluminum and tin cans, newspaper, office waste paper, and cardboard. All recyclables collected are transported to our recycling facility for sorting and recovery. Over the past decade, our collection and educational efforts have resulted in a 74% increase in recycling, surpassing the state mandate and saving the equivalent of two million trees and 900 million gallons of water.

Special Pick-ups.
You may schedule a special pick-up of large household items or extra debris if needed. Please note that any estimates given over the telephone are subject to change when the driver assesses the quantity of the load. A 24-hour notice is required for special pick-up requests. Marin Sanitary Service offers debris box rental for your convenience.

Extras.
Please contact our office prior to your service day if you find that your total amount of garbage exceeds the capacity of your container. "Extras" include any refuse or yard waste placed outside, on top of, or around the container will be picked up for a nominal charge.

Vacation Stops.
If you wish to put a temporary stop on your service due to vacation, please notify the office with your stop date and approximate return date. If you are away for a minimum of two weeks or more, your account will be credited for the interruption of service.
