Marin Sanitary Service accepts empty and depressurized aerosol cans for curbside recycling.
Aerosol cans still containing product or pressure that is not hazardous can be brought into our facilities for recycling.

Aerosol cans that contain products such as paint, adhesives, solvents, etc. are considered hazardous waste and are banned from the landfill and must be disposed of properly.

Marin Sanitary Service accepts all aluminum cans (CRV and non-CRV), foil, pie plates and food trays for curbside recycling. Please rinse and clean containers. No food waste.

Medicine/Pharmaceutical drugs:
The Marin Household Hazardous Waste
Center does not accept unused and expired medicines.
Pharmaceutical drugs are considered hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly. They should never be thrown into the garbage or flushed down the toilet.
SHARPS are accepted by the Marin Household Hazardous Waste Center only if dropped off in designates SHARPS containers.
